After we left Chicaman, Guatemala we went to debrief and training in Antigua. We started with training then debrief. At training we went over:
- What it looks like to die to yourself
- Spiritual principles
- Prayer
- Having Abundance with Jesus
- Strongholds and Footholds
- Holy Spirit
- Manifesting (biblically)
- The Gospel
I know I shared a quick snippet into following God for the last 9 years and just now learning and growing in all these areas. It was one thing to learn about everything listed but it was a whole other experience being able to go out and do it.
After our sessions we had activations where we went out and prayed, asked the Lord what to do, listening to the Holy Spirit and so on. Due to my fractured ankle and resting/recovering I was only able to participate in one of these activations. While I was out praying with my team we felt lead to the park. Apparently so did the rest of our squad, we ran into almost everyone there.
The majority of everyone seemed to migrate to one of the small fountains where we ended up meeting a few people. The first group we ran into we met another church group and did some spontaneous worship and bonded over music.
It was such a cool experience watching everyone praying and just meeting new people as a squad. After we went out on the streets of Antigua we were able to come together and hear our different experiences. I loved taking pictures of everyone and then hearing the different perspectives and how God was moving in that moment.
There were a ton of people selling different “touristy” items. Which I’m sure we would’ve bought if we weren’t all(for the most part) still fundraising. I still need $4,800 by April’s (shameless fundraising plug) please pray for my squad and myself, that we would all be fully funded and won’t get sent home.
Okay back to the blog, as we were walking around different vendors would come up to us. We had the amazing opportunity to meet Melody* who was selling bracelets and pray for her. It started with two of my squad mates and ended with around 10 of us. Melody has been in a wheelchair due to a traumatic accident that happened as a child. As we prayed for her she told us she had a cramp and the pain in her leg went away. Although she didn’t walk again and wasn’t completely healed, the Lord has been teaching me even his healing can be a slow process. Welp the Wi-Fis going out so this will have to be a two parter! The Lord has been teaching me so much about healing mentally, physically, and spiritually. Subscribe for notifications and updates for that upcoming blog!

This is so good, Abbey! It’s amazing to see God at work in the lives of your teammates and you!! Praying for you every single day and for healing in your ankle. Love you!
