Recently, our squad was able to go to Petra. On the way, we stopped at the spot where the Lord showed Moses the Promised Land. While we were walking, it hit me how our entire race has been my squad trying to get to the Middle East. Our promised land. With Covid, we were unsure if we’d be able to leave the Americas. Starting in Guatemala, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic. Finally, the Middle East opened up and we were able to get to this side of the world.
As we walked around my heart was filled with joy but also saddened by the reality of us being in a closed country. It is illegal to be a Christian here and they do have a skewed view of God and Jesus. Pray for hearts to be softened and eyes to be opened as people walk around looking this Holy place.
We all loved Guatemala and the Lord blessed us in our waiting but there were times we didn’t understand. Times we were maybe bitter and upset in our waiting to get to the Middle East. It was a long 6 months but the Lord used it. We were able to see miracles in the Dominican Republic, build lasting relationships in Guatemala, and learn and grow in Costa Rica.
We didn’t wander for 40 years but it was a long 6 months for a group of people on fire for the 10-40 window. As we walked around where the Lord and Moses did, it was a tender moment: realizing we had finally made it to our promised land.
“I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you”
Joshua 1:3
Such a great illustration of our pilgrimage through life. Despite the detours and delays, He will bring us to our Promised Land: Heaven!
“…he guided them to their desired haven.” Psalm 107:30b
Aw, yes! So glad you made it there!! I love and miss you (:
THIS IS AMAZING. I love that He fulfilled the promise (as always). And, beautiful photos (as always).
